MISSION:BALTIMORE

You are invited to join other men as we travel to Baltimore, Maryland for a time of service, learning, and recharging.

The Transformation Center in Baltimore is one of Southcliff's Share Partners.  This ministry center feeds the hungry, provides counseling, trains people for employment, and connects families to God.   Located in a historic building, The Transformation Center is in constant need of maintenance and refurbishment.  Our team of volunteers will work to paint, clean, repair, and make the facility a better place to do ministry.

We will also take time to experience some of the historic sights of the Washington D.C. / Baltimore, Maryland area.  Our group plans to visit Fort McHenry,  the Udvar-Hazy Air and Space Center, the U.S. Marine Corps War Memorial (Iwo Jima), the 9-11 Memorial, the Museum of the Bible, and the U.S. Capital Mall & Museums. 

This will also be a time to gain spiritual insight when we gather together in the evenings for devotional times led by Dr. Carroll Marr, Pastor Brian Zimmerman, and Dr. Stu Cocanougher.

DATES: 

 We will fly out on Thursday morning,  October 10 and will return on Tuesday evening, October 15.

WHO CAN ATTEND? 

This trip is designed for men of all ages. You do not need to be a church member to attend.  You do not need to be a professing Christian to attend. However, you must agree to respect the expectations of our hosts in Baltimore.

WHERE WILL WE BE STAYING?

We will be sleeping at a simple hotel.  We will spend most of our time away from our rooms.

WHAT WILL WE BE DOING?  

This is a combination service experience and spiritual retreat. We will be serving The Transformation Center in Baltimore, led by Pastor Bryan Zimmerman.  We will be involved in a variety of simple construction and repair projects on this aging facility.  We may be painting, cleaning, repairing, etc.  Each evening we will gather together for a devotional time led by Bryan Zimmerman, Dr. Stu Cocanougher, and Dr. Carroll Marr. 

WILL WE DO ANY SIGHTSEEING?

We will also have some time dedicated for sightseeing including:
The Washington D.C. Capital Mall & Smithsonian Museums, Udvar-Hazy Air and Space Museum
Iwo Jima Marine Memorial, 9-11 Pentagon Memorial, The Museum of the Bible, and Fort McHenry.  

WHO WILL LEAD THIS TRIP?

 Dr. Stu Cocanougher (Share Strategy Pastor) will lead the trip, along with Tim Johnson, who will direct our building improvement projects.  Dr. Carroll Marr and Pastor Brian Zimmerman will help lead our evening devotions.

REQUIRED MEETING:

We will have a required team meeting at Sunday, September 22 in the Fellowship Hall from 12:30 PM to 1:45 PM.  Bring $5 for lunch.

COST:  

Southcliff will be paying a significant portion of the cost for each participant. 

The discount cost is...

$475 if registered by Sunday, August 18.

$100 deposit due on August 18.

  $375 due on September 22.

This includes airfare (excluding luggage), lodging, ground transportation, admission to museums, and many of the meals.

After August 18, the cost is $300 plus airfare if space is available.

If you want to arrange your own airfare, the cost is $300.

PAPER REGISTRATION:
Complete a MEN’S RETREAT REGISTRATION FORM. Bring the form with a $100 payment to Southcliff by the registration deadline (see above).  You may pay via cash, check, or online.  To pay online via southcliff.com/give , select “Mission Trips” and write “Baltimore” in the notes. Because we will be serving our partners, the payment is tax-deductible.
